Oscar Piastri was born on April 6, 2001, in Melbourne, Australia. He began his motorsport journey in radio-controlled car racing before transitioning to karting at the age of nine. His rapid ascent through the junior racing ranks was marked by consecutive championships in Formula Renault Eurocup (2019), FIA Formula 3 (2020), and FIA Formula 2 (2021)—a feat matched by only a few in the sport's history.

Piastri made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren in 2023 and quickly made an impression with his calm demeanor and sharp racecraft. In 2024, he clinched his first Grand Prix victory in Hungary and followed it with multiple wins and podium finishes, including dominant performances in Miami and Japan. As of mid-2025, he has established himself as a serious title contender, leading the championship standings with a string of consistent top-tier results.
