FAQs
Alpinestars offers a comprehensive range of motorcycle gear including helmets, jackets, pants, gloves, boots, one-piece and two-piece suits, base layers, and protection systems. The collection spans multiple riding disciplines from street and sport riding to adventure touring, motocross, and urban commuting. Each product category features race-derived technology and Italian craftsmanship developed through 60+ years of motorsports heritage.
Our gear ecosystem includes specialized collections for road racing, adventure touring, off-road riding, and urban use, ensuring riders have access to FIM-homologated protection and performance-driven features regardless of their discipline.
Selecting the right motorcycle gear depends on your primary riding discipline and conditions. Road and sport riders should prioritize aerodynamic fits, abrasion-resistant materials like kangaroo leather or Kevlar, and CE-certified armor. Adventure and touring riders benefit from multi-layer systems with enhanced weather protection and ventilation. Off-road and motocross riders need lightweight, flexible gear with superior impact protection and breathability.
Consider climate conditions, ride duration, and protection requirements. Our collections are organized by riding discipline—including road, adventure, motocross, and urban—to help you find gear engineered specifically for your needs. Many products feature Tech-Air® compatibility for integrated airbag protection across disciplines.
Alpinestars motorcycle gear meets and exceeds the highest international safety standards. Our protective apparel carries CE certification under European regulation EN 17092, with armor meeting CE Level 1 and Level 2 standards for impact protection. Racing suits are FIM-homologated for professional competition, while our helmets comply with ECE 22.06, DOT, and other regional safety standards.
Our proprietary Tech-Air® electronic airbag systems represent the most advanced protection technology available, featuring AI-powered crash detection algorithms validated through decades of racing data. All materials undergo rigorous abrasion and tear resistance testing, with premium leathers and technical fabrics like Nomex providing championship-proven protection.
Many Alpinestars jackets and suits are designed with Tech-Air® compatibility, featuring integrated pockets and connection points for our electronic airbag systems. Tech-Air® technology is available across multiple riding disciplines including road, adventure, and off-road, with systems engineered specifically for each environment.
Compatible garments are clearly marked in product specifications. Our Tech-Air® collection includes both standalone systems and Tech-Air®-equipped jackets with built-in protection. The technology deploys in milliseconds upon crash detection, providing comprehensive upper body protection including chest, back, shoulders, and collarbone coverage that significantly exceeds traditional armor standards.
Proper care extends the life and performance of your motorcycle gear. Leather products should be cleaned with specialized leather cleaners and conditioned regularly to maintain suppleness and abrasion resistance. Textile garments can typically be machine washed on gentle cycles with cold water—always remove CE armor inserts before washing and avoid bleach or fabric softeners that can degrade technical materials.
Never tumble dry motorcycle gear, as heat can damage protective membranes and bonded materials. Air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Inspect armor, stitching, and closures regularly for wear. Store gear in cool, dry locations away from direct sunlight. Specific care instructions are provided with each product and should be followed to maintain CE certification validity and warranty coverage.
